Protection of defense technology is a critical factor for the security and economy of countries all across the world which requires rigorous efforts to properly protect and manage hard-won defense technologies. In particular, we need to pay more attention to the present, where the impact is growing due to the rapid development of advanced technologies such as AI.

Also, safeguarding defense technology cannot be attained with the efforts of a single organization or country and must be supported by collective efforts by related countries in the global community. Thus, it is indeed meaningful to invite members of international organizations, governments, research institutions to discuss defense technology security, for which national commitment and international cooperation are essential.

In light of this, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) of the Republic of Korea hosts the 2024 Defense Technology Security Conference on July 12th at Conrad Seoul Hotel, to share the efforts and achievements in defense technology security and to solidify international collaboration.

The theme of this year’s conference is「Changed International Security Environment and Evolution of Technology Protection Measures」. The conference will touch upon a range of subjects from defense technology control and global policy trends, systematic management of defense technologies and defense technology protection by security elements.

The conference, bringing together dignitaries and professionals from home and abroad to share knowledge and experience on defense technology security, will facilitate international communication and cooperation, and serve as a valuable opportunity to get a glimpse of the future of the defense technology security policy.
